2010 Events:
Clipping is from The Forsyth County Herald, Aug 22, 2010
- August 22nd. These clippings are Letters to the Editor from Chris Goldstein and Geoff Toman, members of Cumming Post 307.
- October: Post 307 began the 4th quarter with a presentation from the Boys and Girls state participants. They told us about their experiences and the impact this week had on their lives. They also thanked Committee Chairman Guy Sillay for coordinating all facets of their week.
Also in October, we had Forsyth County Commissioner, Brian Tam, as our guest speaker. He made some very impressive comments about Forsyth County, which we found interesting.
- November brought us a special visit from State Senator Jack Murphy, who is also a member of Post 307. Three things the Senator discussed were his demands for an English-only Driver's Exam, updated on the county water issues, and the Ban on Texting While Driving Law.

November 11th this year was our turn to plan the annual Veteran's Day
ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial in Cumming. Mac McKinny did an
outstanding job and lined-up all the participants. The guest speaker
was retired Marine Major Kyle Howlin. Major Howlin made a special point
to honor five veterans: Fred Vanlaningham - WWII, John Nuber - Korea,
David Woods - Vietnam, Andy Anderson - Cold War, and Kevin Smith -
Desert Storm. Unfortunately, David Woods passed away two days
before the event, so his wife, Elaine, was proud to stand up for him.
We also did a flag folding ceremony at Haw Creek Elementary School as
part of the Veteran's Day Program.
